Community Involvement

While each member of our firm has personal charities, we take great value from giving back as a team. We do this by donating the firm’s time to provide advisory and project services and in fundraising activities.

DRIVING IMPACT

Contributing to the health and vibrancy of our community is part of our corporate culture.

While each member of our firm has personal charities, we take great value from giving back as a team. We do this through donating the firm’s time to provide advisory and project services and in fundraising activities.
As our company has grown, so too has our pursuit of impact – whether through the creation of a dedicated social innovation lab that co-funds impact projects, investment in integrating DEI into more of our work, volunteering our time and resources to social enterprise startups (e.g. Tribe Network, Habit Forming Technologies, Piecemeal) or regularly donating time and money to numerous charitable organizations (e.g. Ronald McDonald House, Kids Help Phone, Metro Turning Point, Covid Pop Up Testing Sites, Feed Nova Scotia, Canadian Blood Services).
We strive to create an environment where anti-racism work isn’t a top-down approach, but something that every employee has the tools and knowledge to call out where systems foster inequality and hold our leaders accountable to address them. Anti-racism is not just a policy. It is a set of principles against which we measure every aspect of our work. To learn more about our approach and the steps we're taking to ensure we are living up to our commitments you can read our DEI Commitment Statement here

Davis Pier is proud to be B Corp Certified

Our team is made up of dedicated change makers. For many of us, a lot of the values that B Corp promotes come second nature to us.   We are lucky to work with a passionate group of individuals who seek to implement real, sustainable change within our work and communities.

The B Corp Community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose. Much of the work our team members do aligns with these goals.

Davis Pier is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq.

We are also located on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

We must not forget that we are all Treaty People and have responsibilities to each other and this land.

We recognize that African Nova Scotians are a distinct people whose histories, legacies and contributions have enriched that part of Mi’kma’ki known as Nova Scotia for over 400 years.
